SC Driver Charged With DUI After Hitting Guardrail on I-40 in Cumberland County Sunday Morning

A driver has been charged with DUI after crashing into a guardrail on I-40  Sunday (4/14/24) morning in Cumberland County.  It happened around 9:40am at the eastbound 316 mile marker.  According to the THP, 27-year-old Jordan Cimminger, of South Carolina, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata and failed to maintain the proper lane of travel. The Sonata struck the guardrail on the left side of the roadway, crossed over the center line, and then struck the guardrail on the right side of the roadway where it came to a final rest.  The report states Cimminger was injured and has been charged with DUI and possession of a Schedule 4 controlled substance.
